A press release on The Baconing, shared with Kotaku, indicates it’ll be largely the same type of game as its predecessors - Hothead describes it as Monkey Island meets Diablo - but with an improved combat system, new bosses and locations to visit, an additional difficulty level, and a new sidekick, Bob From Marketing (who apparently has laser eye beams, eats dead bodies to restore his health, and eats live enemies as a method of attack). Unlike the previous two games, Ron Gilbert is not involved he was reunited with Monkey Island co-creator Tim Schafer at Double Fine last year. The Baconing will see the titular DeathSpank searching for the Fires of Bacon in a new action-RPG. The third game in the DeathSpank series is coming this summer, courtesy of Hothead Games.
